Sim Card Backup FAQ's
Q. Does Vital Sim work for GSM mobile phones?
A. Yes, it works with GSM 11.11 compatible mobile phones.
Q. Can it perform Backup & Restore if there is a PIN code on the Sim Card?
A. PIN code must be released via the mobile phone before backup and restore can be performed as the Vital Sim is not permitted to release/ record this information.
Q. If I change a few numbers in my phonebook on my mobile phones Sim card and delete some others, then backup the Vital Sim, can I recover any old deleted numbers?
A. No the deleted numbers will be removed as Vital Sim creates a snapshot of your phone book at the time the backup is performed.
Q. How many phone book numbers can be restored? and can you Back-up more than one Sim Card?
A. 255 numbers can be restored but each device can restore only from one Sim Card.
Q. Does the Vital Sim work on all networks?
A. Any card can be used from any service that provides 2G/3G cards.
Q. Can you interface with a PC?
A. No this is a stand-alone system which doesn't require any third party system to use.
Q. Can you save data from one network and copy it onto another networks Sim Card?
A. Yes it will be possible to transfer the names and numbers from one networks Sim Card to anothers.
Q. Does this device save TXT messages, ringtones or other data?
A. No, only the phonebook entries will be saved, that is the Names and Numbers associated with that name.
Q. Could you copy data onto spare sim cards for one account?
A. Yes you can create backup of Sims.
Q. I need a copy of my names and numbers stored onto a new (or another) phone. Will it copy any network specific data too?
A. Only names and number entries of the phonebooks will be copied over- it will not convert the Sim to a new network.
